The Peculiar Chemical Pattern of the WASP-160 Binary System: Signatures of Planetary Formation and Evolution?

Wide binary stars with similar components hosting planets provide a favorable opportunity for exploring the star-planet chemical connection. We perform detailed characterization of solar-type in WASP-160 system. No planet has been reported yet around WASP-160A while WASP-160B is known to host transiting Saturn-mass planet, b. For this we also derive updated properties from both literature and new observations. Furthermore, using TESS photometry, constrain presence additional ones WASP-160B. The stellar includes, first time, computation high-precision differential atmospheric abundances 25 elements based on high-quality Gemini-GRACES spectra. Our analysis reveals evidence correlation between condensation temperatures elements. In particular, find small but significant deficit volatiles an enhancement refractory relative WASP-160A. After WASP-94, second pair among shortlist planet-hosting binaries showing kind peculiar pattern. Although discuss several plausible formation evolution scenarios B that could explain observed pattern, none them can be conclusively accepted or rejected. Future photometric spectroscopic follow-up, as well high-contrast imaging observations, B, might further constraints real origin detected differences.
